Adaptation Policy Assessment

Climate Adaptation Policy Assessment

  • Develop plausible future climate outlooks on the basis of climate projections, and estimate current and future four major hazards related to coastal inundation, extreme wind, inland flooding and bushfire, to ensure assessment outputs technically robust and reliable;
  • Develop future urban development outlook, and estimate the current and future exposure of building assets to the hazards at multiple scales from the local to the national in Australia;
  • Assess the vulnerability of exposed built assets, and estimate the potential risks of built assets to the hazards;
  • Develop climate adaptation policy modality and corresponding response actions to reduce risks of built assets at both spatial and temporal scales, and assess the corresponding accumulative costs and benefits of response options under different policy stances;
  • Produce and optimise climate adaptation options and detail implications to climate adaptation policy development.
